This highly creative menu cover featuring The Northern Lights celebrates Thompson's, a favored eating spot in Anchorage in the 1950s where locals could have anything from breakfast to champagne cocktails. Having found this great old menu, we wanted to know more about the restaurant and, via The Anchorage Daily News, many former customers came forward with their memories of the place. Among the information that was revealed - the owner  Bob Thompson was a member of the fabled Castner's Cutthroats who helped provide intelligence about the Japanese invaders of the Aleutians in World War II.
