Product Description

The Odeon Café was San Francisco’s leading vaudeville restaurant and this lovely Art Nouveau menu cover is dated 1908. It was a huge and elegant place with ornate ceilings, marble pillars and rows upon rows of tables, all with a view of the stage where performers entertained all day and evening. Terrapin, lobster and frogs legs were on the menu, as well as ten types of potatoes, and the café’s owners Adolf Becker and Friedrich Rauschkolb would patrol the different salons, keeping an eye on staff and talking to customers.
