Product Description

This delightful illustration of two sommeliers is the front cover of a vintage wine list from the historic Whiteface Inn, on the banks of Lake Placid in upstate New York. It was established as a hotel in 1882 and named The Whiteface Inn by new owners in 1891. A large resort, the property offered fine dining and lodgings as well as sporting facilities. Golfers were taken to the course by horse drawn carriage. The menu is not dated but, judging by the prices of the liquors offered, we think this is probably from the late 1930s. The Inn is now the Whiteface Club and Resort.
