    From the Shanken News Daily: "A bottle of The Macallan 50-year-old sold for £17,500 ($27,000) at Bonhams Whisky sale in Edinburgh yesterday—the highest price ever paid for the storied single malt Scotch. The price exceeded projections by around 50%. Only 500 bottles of The Macallan 50-year-old—distilled in 1928 and bottled in 1983—were produced.
